Get up acceleration sprints is a unique drill designed to challenge acceleration. Often times in sports, athletes need to get off the ground and move quickly. This drill will mimic times like this in competition. The coach should begin applying resistance as soon as the athlete turns and squares up to the direction they will sprint. Complete 5-20 yard dash sprints followed by 5-40 yard dash sprints. Athletes should take about 60 seconds between repetitions.
