Why First Step Quickness Matters | Run Faster
Building efficient movements throughout the first couple steps of any sprint is very important. Generally during sports training, you will rarely accelerate into a full sprint. And that is why we must train in smaller areas and maximize our ability to move faster.
During this drill we will experience lateral and linear movements. The entire drill should never be ran over 10 yards. The Infinity Loop Bands give you the ability to add more resistance to your legs. The downside is the farther we sprint the more they will move. This is why we train short movements to incorporate overload training techniques while still maintaining proper form.
Drill Breakdown
During the infinity shuffle sprint drill you will start in a 40 yard dash. Work on your set up because it will help you run faster in the long run. Next, you will accelerate forward, shuffle, and then sprint out again for 10 yards.
Be powerful and drive your knees through the Infinity Loop Bands. Proper running form is key. If you are on able to achieve full range of motion with the Infinity Loop Bands lower the resistance or utilize Kbands. Kbands will allow full range of motion while sprinting during any distance. They can also be a good bridge to power training with the Infinity Loop Bands.
