Crunches Are Too Easy - What Are Some Hard Ab Exercises

Are crunches becoming too easy? Have you been pounding out rep after rep at the gym and find that they are becoming less effective? It’s time to take your workout to the next level and find exercises that are more challenging for your core. During these static hold sets, you will find the resistance needed to build more strength in your abs.

Static Hold Exercise On Stands

In the video you will notice that you must keep your arms straight and flex your triceps. Rock your body weight back. This will help efficiently flex your triceps during the hold. Next, raise your legs out in front of your body so that they are parallel to the floor. Focus on your abs as you maintain constant tension throughout your core. If you are a beginner, this exercise may be very difficult, but over time you will be able to hold for longer time frames.

Static Holds Will Give You Great Results

When training your abs, you do not have to complete hundreds of repetitions. The key is to find muscle fatigue and increase volume. Maintain great form and increase the amount of time that you hold this position. If you are a beginner, you may find yourself only able to hold for 10 seconds. If you are more advanced, challenge the time frames at which you can hold. Push yourself to over a minute and take a small rest between sets.
