How does exercise decrease chances of getting:

Osteoporosis: Exercise can help prevent osteoporosis for a number of reasons. Weight bearing movements such as walking or weight training will cause bones to create more cells. What this does is make them denser and decrease chances of becoming brittle. 

Diabetes: Exercise decreases your chances of getting diabetes for a couple major reasons. Exercise reduces blood pressure, cholesterol, and makes the body use insulin more efficiently. Each of these factors are major contributors to diabetes, so by exercising to reduce these factors your chances will be lower. 

Heart Disease: Exercise will help with heart disease for many of the same reasons. By living a healthy lifestyle and exercising regularly it is easier for someone to maintain a healthy body weight. Exercise will decrease cholesterol, blood pressure, and improve cardiovascular functions. 

Blood Pressure: Exercise will help with blood pressure because it will make a person’s heart stronger. A stronger heart will move more blood with every beat and will decrease its workload. Exercise also will lower cholesterol, which keeps the circulatory system clear for blood to flow with less pressure. 

Exercise can help each individual live a longer more healthy life. It is important to find an exercise program, or multiple programs, that you can use to build your body from the inside out.  A healthy body will improve your mood and quality of life.
